Silverdale's unique location on the Kitsap Peninsula affords residents the opportunity to escape the bustle of the "big city" without being so far away as to miss the amenities. The major metropolitan areas of Tacoma and Seattle are both within easy driving distance or a relaxing ferry ride away.

Silverdale enjoys a relatively moderate climate due to its proximity to Puget Sound. The Olympic Mountain Range provides a buffer from the stronger weather systems coming off the Pacific Ocean. Temperatures are mild throughout the year with high temperatures averaging in the 70's during the summer and 40's in the winter. Winters are mild and often go by without a major freeze or snow fall.
